My research interest covers various fields of surface and colloid chemistry in particular:
• electric double layer at solid-liquid interface
• adsorption of ions at solid-liquid interfaces
• solvent effects on adsorption equilibria
• the meaning of the zeta potential and development of new experimental methods to measure it
• synthesis of well-defined adsorbents
• surface chemistry of sparingly soluble oxides
• thermodynamics of adsorption from solutions
• low temperature ionic liquids
